Nominations for the Tony Awards were announced in New York today. “Gore Vidal’s The Best Man” received two nominations, one for best revival of a play and one for the performance of James Earl Jones.

Absent a presumptive favorite like last year’s “The Book of Mormon,” the 2012 field is considered to be wide open.
